ENVELOPE FOR CHRISTMAS CARD FROM THE TEMPLE BOYS TO THE W. Y. ROWLAND FAMILY, 1927
An envelope to a Christmas card (item 3.1) to the W. Y. Rowland family from the Temple boys, 1927. The brown envelope is addressed in black ink, from the hand of Thomas W. Temple II to "Mr & Mrs W. Y. Rowland & family / Puente, Calif -----" At the top right is a red 2-cent stamp with the profile of George Washington, over which is a cancellation stamp. The postmark is at the upper center and is from Cambridge, Massachusetts, dated 2:30 p.m. on 10 December 1927. At the upper left corner is the return address "48 Brattle St / Cambridge Mass," the address of Thomas W. Temple. The envelope was opened at the top crease, so that the flap is still sealed with a Christmas seal showing Santa in his reindeer-driven sleigh in a snowy environment landscape. The year 1927 is at the top and a double cross in red is at the upper right. The words "Christmas Greetings / and Good Health" is at the bottom in white letters on a red background. With discoloration, creases and a few stains, the envelope is in fair condition.
