"Glass Paints, Varnishes and Paint Brushes: Their History Manufacture and Use," issued by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, 1923. The 386-page artifact has a brown hard cover with the title and company name on the top in gold. Below this is an image, also in gold, of what appears to be a person in a turban glass blowing. The title, which is also on the spine, and the image are surrounded by brown diamonds and ornate leaves. At the beginning is an introduction and a table of contents. The book has 50 chapters divided into a glass and paint section. Chapters provide information on the history and making of glass; the use of glass; types of glass; the origins and use of paints; paint types; color suggestions; and paint brushes. Many of the company's related merchandise is listed for sale within each chapter. There are also many black and white drawings and photographs, as well as some color samples and images, included. With light surface soiling; dented corners; and creases on the cover fabric, the object is in overall good condition.
