CHRISTMAS CARD FROM THE TEMPLE BOYS TO THE W. Y. ROWLAND FAMILY, 1926
Color: Black; Red; White
A Christmas card to the W. Y. Rowland family from the Temple boys, 1926. The card has an image on the front of men, dressed in red coats and clothing that appears to be from the American colonial period, gathering inside a structure. Four of the men are around a candlelit table, while two others are outside the door, mounted on horses and with dogs, suggesting that the men were part of a fox hunt. At the bottom left of the image are the words "Good Cheer Within." The image is bordered in a vine or rope pattern. Inside is a printed inscription reading in script reading "Thomas Workman Temple / Walter Paul Temple Jr. / Edgar Allan Temple / send Christmas greetings / with sincere wishes for days of happiness / throughout the coming New Year." There are no other inscriptions or notable features to the card, for which the envelope is item 2.2. Other than slight discoloration, the artifact is in good condition.
