"TEMPLIN-CROCKETT-BRADLEY CO. PLANT AND SEED CATALOG, CA. 1920s"
Color: Black; Green; Orange; Red; Yellow
A 44-page seed and plant catalog issued by The Templin-Crockett-Bradley Co., ca. 1920s. The artifact is divided into parts, because the covers are separated from the text, with the front cover as part a) and having a colorful variety of flowers, vegetables and fruits with their item numbers next to them and a box at the upper center listing their prices. At the top are the words "SEED HEADQUARTERS," while at the bottom is the company name and headquarters. The inside has more colorful flowers, being different varieties of pansies and asters. Part b) is the back cover and has a variety of gladioli with their item numbers next to them and the prices in a box at the bottom. The inside has listings for four varieties of grapes and for strawberries with colored images of them. The text of the catalog is part c) and the first page provides information for ordering and delivery and has a product guarantee. There is also a photo of company headquarters. Statements on quality and service with photographs of company operations are on the following page. A special "Better gardens" section on page five provides product bundling. General listings follow and include flowers and flower seeds; vegetable seeds; vines; shrubs; and fruits. Descriptions include item numbers, brief descriptions, prices in each and quantity and, in some cases, photographs. The last two pages, on ferns and plant food, are on green paper. Other than the separated covers, there is much cover wear and surface soiling, while the pages have small stains at the bottom, dog-eared corners and creases, so the artifact is in poor condition.
