Sears, Roebuck and Company catalog for Spring and Summer 1928 from their new Minneapolis, Minnesota location. The 937-page catalog has a green and blue front cover with a blue and white bordered image of a mother and daughter next to an open box of clothes and the girl pointing a finger at a book, presumably the catalog. The company name and Minneapolis location, as well as the catalog title and reference to the index are below. Pasted over most of this is a sheet of paper with the announcement of the completion of the Minneapolis store and its opening on March 1, showing a drawing of the 12-story building. On the back cover is a listing for the company's "Honor Bilt" pre-manufactured homes, giving eight of the plans with color drawings of front facades and the monthly payment price, as well as four interior drawings of one of the plans. The inside front cover and first page has a map of the United States with regional headquarters highlighted and a message from the company president along with a guarantee of quality and service. Pages 481 to 508, is the index and ordering information with order forms at the back. There are occasional thick colored pages with advertisements with a section of yellow-colored pages for automotive and bicycle products. Pages 479-80 include a postcard to order a made-to-order clothing catalog. Another postcard between pages 838-39 is to order a wallpaper sample book. There are acid stains on pages, creases, surface soiling, small tears and general wear on the covers, so the artifact is in fair condition.
