"Dingee Roses: New Guide to Rose Culture," issued by the Dingee & Conard, Co., 1923. The 58-page booklet has a paper cover with a color illustration of three long-stemmed red roses on the front with the words, "COLUMBIA / The Gem of the Garden," on the right. Across the top is the title and years of business with the company name and address on the bottom. On the back is an illustration of white roses noted as "Our greatest Bush Rose / 'Charles Dingee," on the right. Below is the name and address of the company. At the beginning is an introduction to the company; suggestions to follow when purchasing roses; a guarantee; tips on planting and caring for roses; terms of shipping; and an index. In addition the various types of roses available for sale, there are also many types of chrysanthemums; cannas; decorative plants; lawn grass seed; geraniums; dahlias; gladioli; carnations; violets; peonies; lilies; shrubs; climbing vines; and flower seeds. At the back is a color advertisement for cochet roses. Many black and white photographs and drawings are also included. Found within the catalog were also a supplement .2; special offers insert .3; order blank .4; return envelope .5; and a mailing envelope .6. With light creases at the corners, two small tears on the cover, and a stain along the bottom, the object is in good condition.
