|Title||BRADLEY'S PORCH FLOOR PAINT SAMPLE BOOK|
|Object Name||Sample Books|
Color: Black; Blue; Green; Red; Yellow
A sample book of colors from the Bradley's Porch Floor Paint line offered by the Bradley Wise Paint Co., ca. 1920s. Printed by Bowles Publishing Corporation of San Francisco, the front cover has, at the top, the product name in a yellow background panel. At the center is a colorful image of a painter applying product to a porch floor, as seen through the open french doors of a house. At the bottom, in an orange background panel is the company logo with the words "SATISFIES" and "BEAUTIFIES." Under this, in a black-bordered, blue background panel is the company name and locations. On the back cover is the company logo of a painter in a can of Bradley's paint and the motto "SERVICE IN EVERY CAN" within a black circular border below. Under this is space for a distributor's sticker, but the space is empty. On the inside front cover is a statement about the product and suggestions for the care of floors as well as coverage amounts. The next panels has the color samples, including the colors of french gray; lead; cement gray; drab; and brownstone. The third inner panel has a black and white illustration of a painter working on a porch floor with a brief statement about the product, the name of which is over the top of this and the sample panel. The last panel provides directions for use on new and old floors, as well as directions for stirring the product, allowing it to dry, and not using the porch for several days after application. With an area of surface soiling at the top left of the front and impressions of the samples showing through on the back panel, the document is in overall good condition.
