An envelope to a Christmas card (item 2.1) to the W. Y. Rowland family from the Temple boys, 1926. The plain white envelope is addressed in black ink, from the hand of Thomas W. Temple II to "Mr & Mrs W. Y. Rowland & family ---- / Puente, Calif -----" At the top right is a red 2-cent stamp with the profile of George Washington, over which is a cancellation stamp with a message to insure valuable mail. The postmark is at the upper center and is from Cambridge, Massachusetts, dated 6:00 p.m. on 7 December 1926. On the reverse flap is the return address "48 Brattle St / Cambridge Mass," the address of Thomas W. Temple. Inside the flap is the embossed name of the manufacturer, M. T. Bird & Co. of Boston. With discoloration, creases and a few stains, the envelope is in fair condition.
