|Title||"VERMONT MARBLE COMPANY CATALOG"|
A catalog of tombstones and related products, issued by the Vermont Marble Company, 1929. The 572-page hardbound artifact has a brown leather-like cover with the company name embossed on the top of the front cover. Information at the front of the artifact includes terms of sale, company branch locations, a small-sized supplement for Yule Colorado Marble, dated 10 August 1929. Product offerings begin after this and include tombstones and related items, such as bases, grave covers, footstones, posts, coping strips and other items. Many of the tombstones are accompanied by black and white line drawings with the model number above, as well as on the base. A system of classes, relating to the quality of the marble, is often provided with prices descending from letter A down to letter L. Some of the monuments include urns, plinths, caps, dies, figures and bases. Other products, toward the back, include entrance steps, grave enclosures, benches, pedestals, urns, sundials, burial vaults with columnar price listings for these and other products coming afterward. Some of these latter are crosses, lettering, emblems and a variety of supplies and tools. Toward the end are two black and white photographs of mausolea and there is a two-page index. Pages are generally in good shape, though the cover has rather extensive wear througout, so the overall condition of the object is fair.
